Yes, they are official. The Authorised Higher Artistic Education Centre for Design "Institución Docente Malagueña León XIII" is fully accredited to deliver official Design degrees by the Regional Government of Andalusia under centre code 29018844, pursuant to Law 1/2024 of 7 June. Official degrees in Graphic Design, Interior Design, Product Design, and Fashion Design are official level MECES 2 - EQF 6 qualifications, meaning they are university-equivalent bachelor's degrees comprising 240 ECTS credits.

Law 1/2024 of 7 June regulating Higher Artistic Education (Higher Artistic Education Act) confirms that these qualifications are fully equivalent to university bachelor's degrees, even though they are taught at specialised centres. They are integrated into the MECES at the same level as a university Bachelor's degree, to which they are equivalent for all intents and purposes.

They hold absolutely identical value.

To access higher artistic education degree programmes, two requirements must be met: holding a Baccalaureate Diploma or equivalent (or having passed the university entrance exam for over 25s), and passing a discipline-specific entrance test demonstrating the required knowledge, skills, abilities, and aptitudes.

Individuals who have completed Baccalaureate studies outside Spain must provide official recognition (homologación) of their Baccalaureate diploma into the Spanish educational system, issued by the Ministry of Education. At the time of sitting the specific test or formalising registration, this recognition credential must be presented, or failing that, the conditional enrolment receipt proving the official recognition process is under way.

No. Individuals holding a Higher Technician Diploma in Plastic Arts and Design have direct access to the Higher Artistic Education Degrees in Design and do not need to pass the specific entrance test. However, they must still complete the pre-registration and enrolment process within the established deadlines.

Pre-registration for the following academic year opens from January. It is highly recommended to pre-register early to participate in the preparation course and the subsequent specific test sittings.

It is a test that must be taken and passed as a mandatory requirement for admission to these studies at any institution in Andalusia, whether public or private. The test is valid only for the academic year in which it is taken. It is held at our Center in July and September, on the dates agreed upon with the inspection authority of the Regional Ministry. EADE provides free preparation for it. To take the test, prior pre-registration is required.

Official grants can be requested for these studies. The application must be submitted to the competent authority — either the Ministry of Education or the Regional Government of Andalusia — and is typically processed online through their respective websites.

The specific test is valid solely for admission during the academic year of that specific call. In the event of not enrolling that year, the specific test must be taken again.

Passing the specific test and its resulting score are valid throughout the national territory, but strictly for the year it is taken. However, admission criteria for Andalusian Design Centres give priority to individuals who sat the test within Andalusia.

Students currently in their 2nd year of Baccalaureate who have not yet received their certificate must state this status upon registration. If they have completed these studies by the time of the specific entrance test, they will be entitled to sit it; otherwise, they will not. Prior to taking the Specific Test, students must present their Baccalaureate Diploma or, failing that, the application for its issuance, proof of fee payment, and the official Baccalaureate Academic Transcript.

Yes, provided that the student obtains their diploma before sitting the specific test or prior to formalising enrolment, according to the annual calendar. Currently, Baccalaureate resits take place in June and the extraordinary university entrance sittings (EBAU) at the beginning of July.

Yes. Even if you registered at a public centre, you can still enrol at an authorised private centre. You must request a test certificate proving you passed from the public centre and present it at the private centre.

Places are allocated in order of pre-registration for the specific test preparation course, provided that the student subsequently passes the test and confirms their enrolment within the established deadlines.

Prior training in design is not essential. The specific entrance test is geared towards assessing creative skills, observation, representation, and spatial understanding, rather than advanced technical knowledge. Furthermore, the centre offers a free preparation course to help students familiarise themselves with the nature of the exercises.

Yes. Class attendance is compulsory. These programmes require a minimum attendance of 80% to properly follow the course modules and satisfy the established evaluation criteria.

Yes. Credit recognitions can be requested if you have previously completed official Vocational Training modules, a university Bachelor's degree, or a Master's degree. The application must be filed once registration is complete, and it will be evaluated according to current regulations and how closely the contents align with our syllabus modules.

Yes, as long as you transfer from an official institution delivering higher artistic education in design within Spanish territory. In that case, you must request a transfer of your academic transcript to our centre and provide the corresponding documentation to evaluate the continuation of your studies.
